To work with and support the pharmacy team working within clinical trial implementation at UHCW. Assisting the development of policies, guidelines, audits and research relating to the use of medicines and devices within clinical trials. Working closely with the Technical Services team to support the safe introduction of clinical trials that involve the preparation of parenteral IMPs (investigational medicinal products). Ensuring the receipt, storage, dispensing and destruction of IMP is safe and secure according to relevant regulations and legislation. Creating and validating Clinical Trial prescriptions, including using an electronic prescribing system for Chemotherapy prescriptions where possible. Dispensing IMPs as and when required, particularly for Clinical Trials which are highly complex and require advanced skills and knowledge. To support the implementation of new services (e.g. implementation of ATMP studies) and regional and national initiatives, such as the HRA Technical Review and EDGE Trial Management System. Conducting the Trusts daily treasury management duties. Producing a daily cash flow statement for the management of funds in the Trusts Commercial and Paymaster bank accounts and processing any necessary payments in accordance with Standing Financial Instructions and internal procedures. Maintaining the Trusts Office of the Paymaster General or Lloyds cash book on the cash management system, reconciling to the bank statements on a daily basis and resolving any discrepancies enabling the accurate production of financial reports and cash flow forecasts. Responsibility for ensuring suppliers are paid on time by producing the weekly payment run and associated files and remittances. Administering the weekly payments of Medical and Allied Health professionals via the 24/7 system and completing the associated control accounts. Ensuring the payment and recharges of TempRe invoices and timesheets is completed on a weekly basis as per scheduled deadlines. Preparing and posting transfer and accrual journals as may be required by the Trusts monthly financial reporting procedures and ensuring such journals are done accurately and in accordance with the timescales required by the monthly reporting timetable. Maintaining the Trusts authorised signatory database so as to comply with the Trusts Standing Financial Instructions and so that the Trust has an up-to-date and accurate record of all current authorised signatories and the limits of their authority. Maintaining an effective working relationship with other individuals of the financial services section, other officers of the Trust and outside organisations to ensure the delivery of a professional service focused on achieving a high level of customer satisfaction. Planning and organising own work schedule to ensure that activities are completed within agreed timescales to deliver an efficient and effective service. Filing source documents in accordance with departmental procedures, ensuring that stored material is readily retrievable to resolve any queries that may arise. Financial Reporting and Business Intelligence Produce high quality, timely, accurate and appropriate analytical and interpretive financial management information to Senior Finance Business Partners, Finance Business Partners, General Managers, the senior management team, operational managers and other senior staff throughout the Trust.
