We are looking for a CRHT Support Worker to be part of an established Crisis resolution and home treatment team, supporting patients who are acutely mentally unwell in the community, and providing the best level of care to them whilst remaining in their own homes. We provide support for individuals who are experiencing an acute mental health episode in the community, as well supporting people who have been discharged from inpatient wards. The Community Rehabilitation Service provides a flexible range of mental health interventions to help clients complex mental health needs to manage their mental health more effectively and remain in their own homes. The team works in close partnership with Social Care and housing providers to ensure each client has the necessary resources available to enable them to engage in their rehab journey. Across the Community Rehabilitation teams, the clinical team consists of Occupational Therapists, Psychologists, Nurses, and VCSE Workers.

We currently have exciting opportunities for enthusiastic and motivated Community Psychiatric Nurses to join our new West Kent Community Rehabilitation Service as the team’s Senior Community Psychiatric Nurses.

The successful applicants will care coordinate and provide rehabilitation nursing input to a defined caseload of individuals with complex mental health problems, they will deliver the therapeutic programme and provide support and supervision to other members of the staff team. The team delivers comprehensive, individualised treatment and recovery plans which include supporting clients to maintain their living environment, and encouraging and supporting them to have meaningful roles and purpose within their local communities.

Individuals will be expected to ensure the team is able provide input between the hours of 08:00 and 20:00 according to the needs of the service, including working some evenings, weekends and public holidays.

The Senior Community Psychiatric Nurse is a key clinical leader within the multidisciplinary care team and will have continuing responsibility to assess, plan, coordinate, deliver and evaluate care, communicate findings, influence and drive change and promote health and best practice, patient safety and experience.

The Psychiatric Nurse will be professionally accountable to the Executive Director of Nursing, and operationally accountable to the Service Manager

The women's outreach service is a 2 year pilot project that has been developed as part of the women's secure blended services in the Kent, Surrey and Sussex secure care pathway (KSS). This is an excellent opportunity for someone interested in leading and shaping a new service to improve outcomes for women.

The aims of the women’s service are to reduce the number of women placed within secure beds who do not benefit from secure care. To ensure that that principle of placement within the least restrictive environment is maintained and work with others to identify potential alternatives including effective community-based options and to benchmark services for women within the collaborative against known best practice nationally.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing additional support to women referred from Psychiatric Intensive Care Units (PICU), and prison healthcare services where it is possible to support the care and treatment and subsequent discharge without the need to admit into a secure inpatient service supporting the principle of provision of care in the least restrictive environment.

You will provide highly specialist psychological assessments and formulation, undertake risk assessment and management, be responsible for implementing a range of highly specialist interventions and work collaboratively with partners. Provide expertise and specialist psychological advice, guidance and consultation to others.

The successful candidate will be HCPC registered with a master’s degree award of the BPS qualification in forensic psychiatry or equivalent. Have significant forensic experience including working with women in a forensic setting and have extensive experience of providing successful clinical leadership with a multi-disciplinary health provider context.

Working closely with the multidisciplinary team, key aspects of this clinical post will include providing a comprehensive medicine management service to the inpatient and community services. Extended roles include contributing to the audit and teaching agendas and supporting the coordination and supply of clozapine to community patients, including near patient testing at clozapine monitoring clinics.

As a Consultant Psychiatrist you will join the Thanet Community Mental Health Team which has a dedicated Duty team, assessment and CAPA assessment team. There is a robust system of medical support to the team and to ensure medical leadership.

The Trust regards this as an opportune moment to develop the functioning of the team. The service covers the eastern area of the town, an area of particular social deprivation with considerable drug and alcohol-related difficulties in the local population. You will carry no responsibility for inpatients.

As a Consultant Psychiatrist in Liaison Psychiatry based at William Harvey Hospital in Kent, you will be responsible for delivering a high-quality clinical service and actively involved in the strategic development of the team and broader services.

East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust is a large provider of acute and specialist services that serves a population of over 750,000 across Dover, Canterbury, Thanet, Shepway and Ashford.

You will work collaboratively with one other Consultant Psychiatrist to provide a single point of contact for the mental health needs of patients attending the Emergency Department or admitted to William Harvey Hospital.
