Who do you support?
We support 3 males aged between 50 and 60 years old with learning disabilities, mental health needs and autism. You may be required to support people who, at times, will be challenging.
Where do they live?
This property is a short bus ride into Burnley town centre.
What activities do the people that we support at this property like to do?
The gentlemen we support have varied different personalities and interests, these include music, going to the allotment and walking.
Are there any skills or interests that a candidate could have that would be great to use to support this service?
We are looking for someone who can drive and help with personal care.

Where is this vacancy based?
This vacancy is based in Macclesfield.
Who do you support?
4 gentleman, all of which have a learning disability with varying needs such as mobility, personal care, daily living skills, finance and medication.
Everyone enjoys going out, accessing the community or keeping busy with in house activities.
Where do they live?
4 bedroom bungalow, with 2 bathrooms, a large kitchen with front and back garden. We have a bus stop right outside, with buses running to the town center on a regular basis
What would a typical shift be like?
Start the day as you mean to go on... busy!
We check the diary to see if there are any health appointments or fun pre-planned activities, then organise the shift around that, communicating with the other staff on duty.
All of the people we support require a little help to get ready for the day, this can range from full support to have a bath to prompting someone to make sure all corners of that piece of toast is buttered.
Once everyone has had their medication and completed their morning routines then its up to the people we support to decide what they do with their day.
The pandemic has limited some as they no longer go to day centres but there are still endless opportunities or just a visit with family to facilitate.
The people we support all have many health needs and this is a key point to our support, we have to observe, monitor and document changes.
We then liaise with other health care professionals to guarantee all health needs are met on a daily basis.
Evenings can be a meal out or local disco, equally it can be the "I'm a celebrity" sweepstake.
All individuals have a different evening routine that can vary depending on what they choose.
What activities do the people that we support at this property like to do?
Music, football, cinema, arts and crafts, baking, cooking, classic sitcoms or movies, shopping, farming/tractors, cleaning and organizing (believe it or not), gardening, growing food, any opportunity to decorate the house, visiting places of interest, anything industrial/engineering, Aerospace and plane spotting.
Are there any skills or interests that a candidate could have that would be great to use to support this service?
We require a driver as we have 3 mobility vehicles.
Patience, calmness and the ability to de-escalate verbal confrontation.
Not squeamish when it comes to personal care, as there is a lot!
Fun and jovial when delivering support.
A basic understanding of learning disabilities and health needs including epilepsy.
What is the team here or is it lone-working?
We have a very experienced but small staff team.
There are 6 of us who work amazingly together, problem solving and helping one other reach our shared goal.
The people we support come first. Are they happy and safe? How else can we improve their lives? What do they want to achieve and how can we support this?
What are your shift patterns?
08:00-21:00, 10:00-22:00 + Sleep + 07:30-10:00 (10-10 Sleep) 09:00 - 15:30

Where is this vacancy based?
This vacancy is based in Elworth, Sandbach.
Who do you support?
We currently support 3 ladies who all have learning disabilities. Two of the ladies are elderly and one is middle aged. They all like to access the community regularly and take part in different activities.
Where do they live?
The property is situated on a private road in Elworth, Sandbach.
It is a large 4 bedroom detached bungalow with a communal lounge, kitchen/dining area, bathroom with a bath/shower and toilet.
There is also a large communal private garden with a seating area to sit and enjoy the sun.
What would a typical shift be like?
At the start of the shift you will support the ladies with their personal care and administering medication, then completing morning routines ready for the day.
You will support the ladies through breakfast by supporting them to make their choice of food.
The cleaning will then typically be done such as bathrooms and communal areas before completing activities or scheduled health appointments.
The afternoon will be relaxed, unless a planned activity takes place, the ladies like to relax watching films in the evening before completing their evening routines.
What activities do the people that we support at this property like to do?
One of the ladies we support likes trips to the hair dressers and shopping.
She also likes theatre and musicals, along with a wine and meal out at the pub on occasion.
She also likes to access a day centre which she attends once a week. The two elderly ladies like to access the community via the garden centre, hairdressers and shopping trips.
Are there any skills or interests that a candidate could have that would be great to use to support this service?
We would need someone with basic cooking skills to support the ladies with baking and cooking their favorite meals.
We need a compassionate, person centered support worker who is able to complete personal hygiene tasks.
We have a mobility car at the property so we would require someone who can drive.
What is the team here or is it lone-working?
On occasion you will lone work, usually there are 2 staff in the service during the day time and a sleep-in during the night.
You will be part of an experienced team who will support you to settle in and learn new skills along the way.
What are your shift patterns?
Day shift would usually start from 7:30am, then if you were working the early shift this would then finish at 15:00.
Or, if this were the long day then you would finish around 20:00.
The afternoon shift would usually be 15:00-20:00, unless you wanted the sleep-in shift which would then be until 22:30 and then the sleep until 07:30 the following morning.

This vacancy is based in Rochdale, supporting one lady, with complex needs, that require total support with all aspect of her support needs and her daily life.
A successful candidate would be required to support with Moving and Handling, training and annual assessment will be completed within the service by the Team leader.
Individual supported require direct support with all aspect of personal care, at all times. With all aspect of her life, meaning she require support with managing her finances, support with managing and administering medication, support with all area of her food preparing, feeding support, and support with fluid intake.
Total support with all life skills, support to accessing local community for social, professional and other activities any community engagement.
The individual supported rely and require support with maintaining basic life skills and social interaction within her local community and engaging with professional organisation and partners within social care support network.
What would a typical shift be like?
Support to identify symptoms, book and attend health appointment.
Individual fully rely on staff support to manage and maintain tenancy. Because of her support needs.
She would like someone that is creative and forward thinking, this individual should be able to support with new community activities that would enable the person to access local community and increase social interaction.
Because of her mobility support need for the individual we support require someone that is able to drive. Driver is require and essential for this service.
Being flexible, willing to work sleep hours and willing to learn, and develop non-verbal communication skill, able to support with the skill of elimination of need and support and decision making.
Successful candidate should able to lone work, and would be working within a small, but experience staff team that are hardworking, friendly happy and willing to support a new member of staff to understand the needs of the PWS and settlement well within the team.
