If so, read on as Spider is advertising on behalf of a charity who helps over 1,000 people who are either homeless or at risk of homelessness every year. They are currently looking for Specialist Women's Project Coordinator to join their team inSouthend on Sea, Essex.
About the role:
The Specialist Women's Project Coordinator will advise, support and assist women in their entitlement to welfare, housing, benefit and legal rights. The role will be driving forward a gender and trauma informed approach, ensure client needs and aspirations are at the centre of the support planning process and that all aspects of support are delivered within a psychologically informed environment. You will provide guidance and support to other project workers, serving as a mentor and resource for best practices. You will be working with colleagues, statutory health and other community organisations to deliver a suitably tailored, and co-produced range of activities and on-site specialist services. Take a lead with the development of Team Around Me approach to case conferences.
Other main duties will include:
- Create a community of support and empowerment between the women and a focus on building individualised and highly personalised skills and resources to strengthen self-esteem and confidence.
- Ensure that incidents/safeguarding are reported within timescales, ensuring follow up plans are implemented.
- Be part of the delivery of a tailored, and co-produced range of activities and on-site specialist services, working with a gender informed approach.
- Ensure women's needs and aspirations are at the centre of the support planning process and that all aspects of the support are delivered within a psychologically informed environment.
- Provide intensive housing management to residents living in our supported accommodation.
- Ensure all on your caseload have a robust safety and risk management plan which is continually reviewed.
- Ensure that the information on the database is accurate and fully updated and in line with Data Protection requirements.
- Provide advocacy for the women to ensure they receive wrap round support both internally and externally.
- To work within the Team Around Me approach to case conferences.
About you:
You will need a minimum of 2 years extensive experience of working with people who have experienced multiple disadvantages/complexes needs and the application of a trauma informed approach. Experience of collating and completing a co-produced support and risk management plan, using a strengths-based model. Experience of applying Health & Safety guidance. You will have the ability to establish trust and maintain a good rapport with clients. Extensive knowledge of the barriers faced by those experiencing multiple disadvantages. Including Mental Health issues/alcohol and drug dependency/Domestic Abuse as well as safeguarding, knowing the process and how to raise concerns.
A demonstrably high level of numeracy, literacy, and comprehension. Understand the remits and resources of relevant statutory bodies and voluntary agencies. Have excellent communication, negotiation, and advisory skills, both written and verbal when interacting with a range of agencies and individuals. Proactive, self-motivating, work well under pressure. Self-Care: Practice self-care to prevent burnout and maintain emotional resilience while dealing with emotionally challenging situations.
Hours of work will be 37 hours per week. On offer is a salary of £27,845 rising incrementally to £30,439 per annum.
