A brief summary of your job responsibility:

• Provide strategic direction, leadership, and oversight of the IT Assurance function within ATS.
• Develop and implement IT assurance strategies, policies, and procedures to ensure the effectiveness of internal controls and compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Lead and manage a team of IT audit professionals to conduct independent assessments of the design and operating effectiveness of internal controls and risk management systems.
• Deliver timely and high-quality IT assurance reports to senior management and stakeholders, highlighting key findings, risks, and recommendations for improvement.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including technology, compliance, and legal departments, to drive continuous improvement in IT governance, risk management, and compliance practices.
• Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging risks, and regulatory requirements to proactively identify areas for improvement and respond effectively to changes in the IT risk landscape.
• Provide strategic advice and guidance to senior management on IT risk and assurance matters.
• Foster a culture of continuous learning and development within the IT Assurance team, promoting professional growth and expertise in IT audit and assurance.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including auditors, regulators, and industry peers.

To succeed in this role, you will ideally have:

• Minimum of 15 years of experience in IT audit, IT risk management, or a related field, with at least 7 years in a leadership role.
• Professional certifications such as CISA, CISSP, or CRISC are highly desirable.
• In-depth knowledge of IT governance frameworks and standards, such as COBIT, ISO 27001, and NIST Cybersecurity Framework.
• Strong understanding of regulatory requirements related to IT risk and compliance, particularly in the financial services or government sectors.
• Proven track record in developing and implementing IT assurance strategies, policies, and procedures.
• Experience in managing and conducting IT audits, risk assessments, and control evaluations.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

About the role:

CLA is looking to hire an Assurance Manager or Director in our Minneapolis office.

As an Assurance Manager or Director you will:

• Assume full responsibility for planning, supervising, and controlling all phases of the Firm’s regular services for those clients delegated by Principals.

• Assume in-charge responsibility; plan the timing, staffing and execution of assurance engagements to promote the most efficient operation and deliver value to our clients.

• Lead the decision-making process for assigned engagements/clients; keep the Engagement Principal fully informed of major decisions and the engagement progress.

• Develop a responsible and trained team through assistance in recruiting, planning assignments, resolving problems, providing direct consultation to staff, evaluating staff performance, and acting as an instructor or discussion leader in professional development programs.

• Supervise preparation of the engagement letter for approval by the Engagement Principal, discuss the nature and terms of the assignment with the client, estimate fees, and ensure client signs and returns the engagement letter prior to the start of the engagement.

• Evaluate internal controls and audit programs prepared by staff, revise as necessary, and present to the Engagement Principal for approval.

• Follow the engagement progress through monitoring time budgets and deadlines for adherence; communicate important developments to the Engagement Principal along with facts, conclusions, and recommendations; provide ongoing attention to

What you'll need:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

• 6+ years of public accounting experience with emphasis in financial statement preparation, audits, reviews, and compilations.

• Current CPA license required.

• Advanced technical knowledge of audit, accounting, and tax concepts.

• Ability to travel to client sites that requires overnight travel.

Senior Manager/Associate Director, Regulatory Compliance

Job Responsibilities

• Assist the Section Head to supervise the day-to-day functioning of the regulatory compliance team and identify and implement processes that enhance efficiency and effectiveness of the regulatory compliance function.
• Assist the Section Head in providing guidance and mentorship to members of the regulatory compliance team and promote and cultivate a good and efficient working relationship between members of the regulatory compliance team.
• Keep abreast of relevant regulatory changes and amendments, assess their impact, notify relevant staff of these changes and organize training for relevant staff and management if necessary.
• Act as strong second line of defense to provide regulatory compliance advice and guidance to business units that balances regulatory requirements, risk mitigation and business objectives.
• Serve as interface/liaison with GE Group Risk, auditors and regulators where necessary and attend to their relevant requests. Monitor the resolution of findings of GE Group Risk, auditors and regulators and work with the relevant business units towards the resolution of these findings insofar as they relate to the regulatory compliance issues or regulated activities under the Securities and Futures Act undertaken by the Company and its registered representatives.
• Ensure that all significant regulatory compliance issues are brought to the attention of the Management Committee and the Board.
• Enhance and promote the Company’s and staff’s compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, internal policies and procedures of the Company including the implementation of processes to effectively monitor continuing regulatory compliance by the Company and staff.
• Discharge ad-hoc duties or projects assigned by the Section Head or Management.

Job Requirements

• Degree, preferably in Finance, Accountancy or Business.
• Minimum 7-10 years of regulatory compliance experience (in the financial industry would be preferable and in an asset management industry would be advantageous).
• Strong analytical and decision-making skills with good grounding in fundamental regulatory principles.
• Team player, good interpersonal skills and a strong commitment to continuous learning and excellence, practical approach to problem solving applying regulatory compliance knowledge.
