This position is located in the Trust Fund Department of a Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP) correctional facility.

Responsible for the implementation, administration, and coordination of Trust Fund programs and operations at the facility.

Primary duties encompass: Commissary services, Inmate Telephone services, Trust Fund Limited Inmate Computer System (TRULINCS) services, Inmate Deposit Fund services, Institution Warehouse services and Institution Laundry and Clothing Issue services.

Charged with development, implementation, support, maintenance and training for Trust Fund programs and operational areas, as well as for those areas outside the Trust Fund Department which benefit from the TRUNET system and its related applications.

Responsible for the TRUNET and TRULINCS Trust Fund systems and their associated applications.

Responsible for the administration, maintenance, and workflow in regard to budget, accounting, and procurement-related functions within the Trust Fund Department, including six cost centers.

This position is located in a Federal Bureau of Prisons federal correctional facility, in the Special Investigative Services Office.

Serves as an assistant to the Special Investigative Agent (SIA)/Special Investigative Supervisor (SIS) and is responsible for providing assistance during investigations, developing reports, preparing correspondence, maintaining evidence, and computer support.

Assists the SIA/SIS in conducting investigations of inmate violations of BOP prohibited acts of various severity levels, such as assaults, introduction of contraband or narcotics, possession of money or currency, communicating gang affiliation and/or participating in gang activities, and other prohibited activities. Investigations can range in length from several hours to weeks or months depending on severity.

Responsible for planning immediate and long range staffing needs.

Develops a recruitment and staffing plan to identify management's needs.

Responsible for overseeing staffing functions that include requesting certificates of eligibles, scheduling and conducting interviews, BOP-HIRES issues, and preparation of security clearance requests.

Responsible for ensuring accurate guidance is provided on pay administration issues.

Responsible for local labor management negotiations.

Responsible for administering the leave program in a fair and consistent manner in accordance with the law and other applicable rules/regulations.

Serves as a Quality Improvement and Infection Control Nurse in the Health Services Department of a Bureau of Prisons (BOP) federal correctional facility.

Manage the local infection prevention and control program under the guidance of the national Infection Prevention and Control Officer, Office of Quality Management, Central Office, Washington, D.C., and performs quality improvement activities to improve health care outcomes.

Performs surveillance of infections and diseases, management of the tuberculosis prevention and control program, contact investigations and containment of infectious disease outbreaks, infection prevention activities including immunization administration and tracking for inmates and staff, education related to infection control practices, collection and analysis of data to reduce risk and improve health outcomes.

Notifies the national Infection Prevention and Control Officer and public health authorities at all levels of government about reportable infectious conditions.

As the SES Warden at (MCC) Chicago the incumbent is responsible for the overall management of a federal prison, the mission of which is the safekeeping, care, protection, discipline, programming, and release of more than 502 inmates charged with or convicted of offenses against the United States. Many of these inmates have complex sentences and have compiled serious records of institution misconduct which indicate they require stringent security measures. Under the general direction of the Regional Director, incumbent is delegated full authority and responsibility for carrying out the directives of the federal courts and the Attorney General. Incumbent is responsible for all administrative functions of the institution, including planning and coordinating all programs related to security, discipline, etc., and developmental issues with regard to federal inmates. What are the Major Duties of this Position?

Serves as a training instructor in a vocational or occupational training program in the Education Department of a Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP) correctional facility and may also serve as a program coordinator for other vocational/occupational training programs.

Selects and/or develops curriculums which focus on the appropriate vocational training area.

This position has direct responsibility for the delivery of classroom training for vocational and apprenticeship courses in the field/trade of Certified Logistics Technician.

Develops a curriculum design and record-keeping system to organize and track student progress through identified course work.

Ensures the training program(s) are implemented and delivered in compliance with Bureau policies, Department of Labor, and Bureau of Apprenticeship and Training regulations, and the standards established by other certifying agencies and organizations.

Serve as apprenticeship program coordinator with responsibility for coordinating the various occupational training programs and classes, as well as responsibilities which include development, review and evaluation of the vocational trades program.

Supervises inmate crews responsible for the repair and operation of utility systems and equipment. Systems which may be present include but are not limited to Steam producing boilers, condensate return systems, fire pumps, feedwater systems, and sewage filtering and monitoring systems.

Responsible for the distribution of all high voltage electrical loads including switch gear, transformers and metering devices.

In addition to the efficient operation and maintenance of the institution boilers, air conditioning equipment, water, sewage and electricity generation and distribution, responsible for replacing and or repairing thousands of feet of steel piping, expansion joints and hangers.

Prepares patients for dental treatment, equipment for use by the dentist and provides chair side assistance to dentist and provide a wide range of dental procedures.

Maintain and use automated processing equipment.

Establishes dental records and is responsible for the control of medical records while they are in the dental clinic.

Responsible for the scheduling of patients, preparing the call-outs, and supervising inmate patients.

Maintains adequate stock levels of the expendable supplies used in the clinic and prepares purchase requests for the purpose of ordering additional supplies.

Responsible for maintenance and minor repair of dental equipment.

Administers a variety of individualized formal and informal diagnostic special education and literacy tests (including pre/post tests).

Responsible for managing and directing the administrative activities of a multi-disciplinary team of health care professionals who are responsible for the medical, dental and allied health services of the facility, and in collaboration with the Clinical Director, overseeing the provision of the best possible patient care to the inmate population.

The health care services provided include inpatient and outpatient care in either an institution setting or at a local hospital, as well as routine health maintenance services, emergency services and chronic care of inmates with long term illnesses.

Serves as a cost center manager to prepare estimates and administer an annual budget and manages a procurement system to provide adequate levels of medical, surgical, dental and pharmaceutical supplies.

Develops and coordinates internal review systems to assure compliance of the standards of the American Correctional Association (ACA) and the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Health Organizations (JCAHO), as well as other regulatory groups and higher agency authorities.

Implements the agency’s re-entry initiatives including timely Inmate Skills Assessment data entry at admission and evaluation of health status documented in an updated electronic exit summary at release.

Ensures the provision of release medications and electronic transmission of health records to community healthcare providers rendering continued medical or mental health care when applicable.

Analyzes obligation documents to determine validity of payment vouchers and proper classification of the obligations.

Conducts formal as well as informal training to accounting technicians in the areas of policy, regulations, and various laws that fall under the area of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
