The successful candidate will take up their post from 2 September 2024, subject to satisfactory clearances. The successful candidate with the required library qualification or experience, or with significant student support experience and willingness to pursue a library qualification, will be appointed to a permanent position at Bristol Grade 8.This post provides a unique opportunity to develop new skills in a school which has a compelling vision and deep commitment to providing exceptional teaching and learning.The RoleThis post is 36 hours per week term time only + 5 INSET days. The salary (BG8) is currently equivalent to £26,873 rising to £28,770 per annum (gross). Working term time only will impact the actual salary paid. The successful applicant would start at the bottom of the BG8 salary range. The Sixth Form library is prominently positioned within the heart of a thriving learning centre, containing 56 carrel workspaces and 35 further computer workstations, and an extensive stock of books, journals, and learning resources. The Librarian plays an important and valued role as part of the sixth form support team. In addition to maintaining and supervising the library and supporting students in their research, the post-holder will provide administrative support to various subjects and to the Sixth Form Progression Coordinator, supporting both students and staff in making effective university applications. The successful candidate will also have a significant role in coaching students in managing and organising their study time and resources.The SchoolSt Mary Redcliffe and Temple is a successful and heavily oversubscribed 11-18 co-educational, Church of England, comprehensive school of over 1750 students, serving families from the whole of greater Bristol and beyond.
