We are looking for an experienced Course Leader - English to join the Events, Enterprise and Employability department at our Mabgate campus. This is an exciting opportunity to shape the delivery of English courses and support students in developing their language and communication skills.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for English language education along with expertise in curriculum design. You will work collaboratively with the department to develop engaging course content and teaching strategies. As Course Leader, you will provide instructional leadership, guide assessment practices, and support instructors.

The School of Events, Enterprise and Employability offers a wide range of study programmes and apprenticeship opportunities to both 16-18 and 19+ learners who are looking to pursue a career in Events, Marketing, Customer Service and Business sustainability. Our course offers range from Level 1, for learners who may be applying to college with limited previous experience of qualifications through to Level 3 Extended programmes of study which enable students to progress to higher education or supervisory positions within industry.

What You Will Do

• Responsible for retention, achievement, progress/value added, attendance and positive progression rates for an identified course or courses.
• Maintain high quality and effective delivery across the course team.
• Develop new modules, units and course.
• Responsible for developing new units, modules and courses in line with government policy, awarding organisation developments and student demand as well as local community, economic and employer requirements.
• Deliver and assess essential knowledge and understanding to learners.

About You

• Holds a L5 Teaching Qualification (e.g. Cert Ed, PGCE)
• Relevant highest level vocational qualification or degree in teaching subject
• English and Maths at Level 2 or above and a willingness to improve in one or both disciplines to level 3 or above
• Relevant experience, knowledge and skills to enable delivery of a range of levels across the curriculum, which demonstrates active learning and differentiated teaching styles.
• Experience of positively managing student and group progression, advice and guidance in a school or Further Education setting
• Experience developing creative learning materials for groups of learners
• Ability to develop and deliver strategies to improve retention, achievement, success and attendance rates for groups of learners
• Ability to plan and deliver quality teaching across identified cohorts

About the Role

Leeds City College are recruiting for a Teacher/Course Leader to join our team.

We are looking for a teacher to contribute to the delivery of our courses in Games, Animation and Esports, primarily to level 3 students.
