Overview
The Riverside Health System provides a temporary paid student internship program that creates an opportunity to gain invaluable experience through a combination of mentoring, learning activities, and project work designed to give broad exposure to the inner workings of a health care system. This temporary paid internship program consists of various assignments throughout the health system combined with leadership development opportunities. Students serving in this role will be expected to participate in completing projects for the health system with minimal supervision. Students will be assigned to one department or facility for the entire program period where they will work under the supervision/mentorship of an experienced Business Unit Leader. General Summary
Essential Job Accountabilities
Conduct research, perform analyses, and deliver reports on findings on sustainability-related topics as assigned to ensure a well-rounded sustainability strategy. Examples include researching sustainability in different infrastructure end-markets, conducting peer benchmarking, and gathering information on support programs and financial incentives for renewable energy transitions.
Develop plans for the Company’s Sustainability Week, including creative ways to engage employees with the Company’s mission for sustainability.
Monitor, facilitate and communicate progress of the Company’s sustainability programs and ensure program objectives are consistent with strategies, goals, measurements, and reporting standards.
Partner with internal and external resources to coordinate the writing, layout, approval and publishing of sustainability reports to support the company branding as and industry sustainability leader.
Coordinate with the Sustainability Objective Owners and business operations to ensure relevant data is collected, properly documented, and available to support reporting and company communications.
Monitor renewable resources, sustainable work processes, and environmental science trends to ensure proper sustainability benchmarks are established to support management’s strategies in maintaining the Company’s industry leadership role.
Provide administration to the Sustainability Council to support as a Center of Excellence by facilitating knowledge sharing and development of best practices.
Assist with project proposals and expediting owner acceptance and implementation of sustainability initiatives that differentiate the company from its competition.
Education
Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or graduate-level program
Work Experience
0-2 years related work experience preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Ability and willingness to abide by Granite’s Code of Conduct daily
Demonstrated time management skills, along with a high level of proficiency with MS Office Suite and the ability to learn new software quickly
Strong problem-solving skills, with demonstrated ability to provide creative solutions to real-time challenges with consistent follow through
Attention to detail/accuracy, quick learner and internally motivated to seek out answers, generate ideas, and develop new skills
Excellent written and oral communication skills to effectively disseminate information and convey concepts, ideas and information
Ability to set priorities, organize work, and work in high production environment while responding quickly and effectively under pressure, changing priorities and tight timelines/deadlines
Team player who can operate effectively within a matrix management environment
