Maintains a safe, sanitary and therapeutic environment for patient care; assists in the cleaning and maintenance of technical equipment used in patient care and utility room; reports equipment requiring repairs to appropriate others. May answer telephones and issue appointments as needed. Performs other job-related duties as required.
This is a full time day position at NewYork-Presbyterian Westchester Medical Group, Monday/Friday, hours between 8:00 am - 6:00 pm (40 hours). Primary location for this position is 140 Lockwood Ave, New Rochelle, NY 10801.
Must be willing to provide coverage across various Westchester Medical Group locations as needed.

JOB SUMMARY
The Student Nurse Intern (SNI) works under the direction of a Registered Nurse and in accordance to the patient/family care plan to collect patient information and provide direct patient care contributing significantly to the achievement of patient and family outcomes. As a member of the direct care team, the SNI is responsible and accountable for complete and accurate collection and recording of data, completion of routine and delegated direct patient care activities and communicating and collaborating with the Registered Nurse to prioritize workload.
When under the direct supervision of the RN, the SNI may participate in performing direct and indirect nursing care for patients. The SNI collaborates with the RN during patient assessment to develop the nursing diagnosis(s), the patient plan of care and for the evaluation of nursing interventions.

EDUCATION
For positions requiring education beyond a high school diploma or equivalent, educational qualifications must be from an institution whose accreditation is recognized by the Council for Higher Education and Accreditation.
Minimum Required: Currently enrolled in an Associate or Bachelor’s degree nursing program with completion of at least two semesters in ADN program or four semesters in BSN program for clinical nursing curriculum. UH Lakewood Medical Center is located between Kansas City and Lee’s Summit, Missouri, offering residents of Eastern Jackson County access to a modern community hospital with a continuum of outpatient services designed to meet the needs of families. UH Lakewood specializes in high-risk maternal and child care, and serves as one of the few Kansas City metro area institutions accredited by The Joint Commission in Orthopedics and Palliative Care. UH Behavioral Health is the KC metro area’s largest, most comprehensive provider of mental health services. The Crossroads Building, located in Kansas City’s vibrant Crossroads Arts District, is its epicenter, providing a broad list of outpatient services. We also offer psychiatric inpatient care, and we deliver therapeutic services through our community outreach clinics. We are a leader in the Trauma-Informed Care Movement, and provide training, coaching and consulting to outside organizations.
Performs general diagnostic radiographs. Operates imaging equipment and develops film. Prepares patient's room, equipment, supplies, and medications. Provides patient services using imaging modalities. Works under moderate direction from the supervisor or manager. Must always work with a Registered Radiologic Technologist.
High school diploma or the equivalent
Senior student status in an AMA Radiologic Technologic Program or advanced status in an accredited ultrasound training program evidenced by official transcript
Requires good interpersonal and verbal communication skills to assist patients in the imaging process and explain procedures
Must have knowledge of the human development process and ability to work effectively with patients of all ages
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds to assist and move patients
