The director oversees a comprehensive regulatory program designed to achieve DNV accreditation, and compliance with many other regulatory agencies to include GAEPD, DCH, CMS, DOT and other oversight agencies. This position works closely with Presidents of Braselton, Gainesville, Barrow, Habersham, and Lumpkin, as well as the leaders of NGPG/GHI, and corporate services in the ongoing maintenance of facilities. This position is also responsible for the design, implementation and leadership of environmental safety programs, policies and processes. Provides expertise and guidance to management and the senior leadership team on matters relating to environmental safety, and other matters related to health care facility regulations.
Licensure or other certifications: GA state mechanical license without restrictions, state boiler operator license and EPD license for UST preferred.

The Charge Nurse, under the direct and indirect supervision of the Nurse Manager or administrative supervisor, facilitates and assists with all levels of Nursing care provided to patients within a Nursing unit or practice location. The Charge Nurse will assist Clinical Nurses with day to day problem solving and will facilitate communication between care team providers. He/She coordinates, elevates and resolves problems and conflicts as they occur. The Charge Nurse assumes shift accountability for patient flow, matching patient needs with available resources, and elevates patient safety concerns/situations as well as any other situation that is unable to be resolved during the shift. The Charge Nurse leadership role is critical to improving the quality of care provided on the individual Nursing unit/practice setting. In addition to these responsibilities, when needed the Charge Nurse may assume all or partial staff nurse responsibilities. The Charge Nurse is the first level of administration assigned to the unit in the absence of the Nurse Manager or Assistant Nurse Manager. The Charge Nurse participates in Peer Interviewing and Peer Evaluation. The Charge Nurse is included in worked hours per patient day (WHPPD) and is assigned by self to direct patient care assignment as unit need indicates. Assists therapists with transportation, preparation and treatment of inpatients and outpatients. When transporting patients, uses applicable safety measures such as safety belts, wheelchair brakes, side rails, removal of leg rests, and properly positions patient in room or treatment area. Considers patient’s safety and modesty by properly draping with item such as sheet, rope, and slippers. Assists therapists or assistants with various treatments. Makes the appropriate therapist or assistant aware of any notable patient responses. Asks for assistance when appropriate for safe and effective patient care. Coordinates transportation schedule of inpatients with appropriate therapists or assistants and effectively communicates schedule and/or changes with the appropriate units involved. Effectively communicates with patients, i.e. explains treatments, sensitive to patient’s moods and needs, etc.
Seeks educational opportunities to increase clinical competency, including voluntarily seeks improvement in clinical skills by reading and observation of therapists.
Maintains a clean work environment and posts charges. Cleans and straightens assigned area(s) on a daily basis. Keeps dressings, instruments, equipment and supplies orderly and stocked; notifies appropriate person for ordering when necessary. Notifies appropriate persons for ordering supplies. Charges are posted in a timely manner.
