Are you a skilled technician with experience in maintaining high-quality production standards? We're looking for a Technical Associate to join our team and operate state-of-the-art equipment. As a Technical Associate, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining production equipment, minimizing equipment downtime and waste levels, and ensuring accurate functioning of equipment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Operate, optimize, and maintain assigned production equipment
Meet and exceed production standards while maintaining product quality
Minimize and prevent equipment downtime and sustain budgeted waste levels
Maintain accurate equipment logs and record downtime and maintenance problems
Perform preventative maintenance on equipment
Start up equipment and ensure accurate functioning
Monitor component inventories and safety guards
Maintain a neat and orderly production environment
Monitor in-process quality and address issues as needed
Perform required Q.C. checks and process challenges
Follow safety and environmental procedures and Quality System Requirements
Support upstream and downstream operations
Perform rework as required
Work optimally in a team environment
Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor
QUALIFICATIONS:
H.S. Diploma/G.E.D preferred
Minimum of 2 years experience working in an automated environment with demonstrated mechanical skills/maintenance repair is required
Proficient with basic hand tools
Knowledge of automated process
Proficient with mechanical components such as bushings, chain drives, conveyors, gearboxes, and ball valves
Proficient with electrical components such as photo-eyes, scales, reed switches, VFD’s
Working with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), Hydraulics, and Pneumatics desired
Able to work autonomously and be self-motivated
Able to work any shift, including 12-hour night or 8-hour night shifts
Must have clear and legible handwriting

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Has detailed operational knowledge of the equipment to the point that they can operate within specified quality/quantity limits.
Sets up and debugs equipment to the specifications listed in specifications, plant policies, and Department Procedures.
Deviations from these specifications must be cleared with the supervisor or Engineering Maintains equipment in working order to produce product within specified quality and quantity limits, adjusting, troubleshooting, cleaning, and repairing as necessary.
Is responsible for maintaining equipment logs for each piece of equipment, recording pertinent information about downtime and maintenance problems.
Repairs equipment within their capability and reports major problems to supervisor
Assists the Maintenance Department, LTA/Production Mechanic or Manufacturing Technician in major repairs.
Performs preventative maintenance on the equipment as specified in the plant preventative maintenance (PM) program or as needed for smooth operation.
Requires mechanical ability and knowledge of proper use of tools, proper troubleshooting and set up procedures, and machine blueprint reading.
Starts up equipment and ensures proper functioning of machines and control panel.
Monitors / replenishes component inventories and ensures all safety guards are in position and functional. Checks and cleans part tracks to ensure free travel of all component parts.
Notifies material handler if part supplies run low.
Shuts machine cycle off when a jam occurs and after clearing the jam, restarts the machine cycle.
Maintains accurate production and downtime records (logbooks).
Maintains a neat and orderly production environment.
Continually supervises in-process quality, addressing issues as needed to prevent product holds.
Performs and documents all required Q.C. checks.
Runs all required process challenges.
Observes all safety and environmental procedures and Quality System Requirements (QSR)
Supports upstream and downstream operations.
Performs rework as required.
Able to function in a team environment.

Position Summary
Provides technical support, primarily mechanical, to production operations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Operates, sets-up, adjusts, changeovers/troubleshoots and repairs/maintains all departmental production equipment.
Responsibilities include production, quality, downtime and waste levels of machine operation.
Provides leadership and training for associates on production floor.
Must project positive attitude with excellent team skills. Interacts with machine shop personnel to resolve and improve equipment operation and processes.
Provides leadership in a team environment.
Trains and advises TA and fellow associates on proper set-ups and repairs of equipment.
Trains TA’s in methodical problem solving techniques.
Interfaces with engineering and Manufacturing Technicians (MT’s) to direct completion of required projects.
Uses available resources: engineering, machine shop, production and maintenance departments as required.
Organizes and directs improvement projects to increase equipment utilization.
These are to be done in conjunction with area engineer, production supervisor and other resources that may be required.
Audits preventative maintenance (PM) procedures and activities of TA’s and fellow associates.
Documents electronically PM audits to supervisor for corrective actions.
Analyzes equipment failures for frequency of failure in order to modify/update PM work order.
Sets up and debugs equipment to documented specifications.

Performs preventative maintenance on the equipment as specified in the PM program or as needed for smooth operation.
Tracks and audits PM’s to ensure they are completed and closed out in the SAP system.
Turns on machines and ensures proper functioning of machines and control panels.
Makes certain safety guards are in position and working properly.
Verifies that part tracks/rails are clean to ensure free travel of all component parts.
Monitors production machinery as needed to ensure top performance.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Supports all upstream and downstream operations.
Maintains toolbox and surrounding area neat and clean.
Verifies that equipment-surrounding areas are clean during the shift.
Performs other duties as required.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience:
High School Diploma or GED required
Associates Degree (Major: Advanced Mechatronics Technology) preferred
Previous leadership roles or supervisory experience required
Mechanical Aptitude and Experience required
Proficient with basic hand tools.
Knowledgeable of feeler gauges and other tools to measure tolerances, torque, and clearances.
Minimum of 2 years as Set-up, Technical Associate role or equivalent.
Should be familiar with troubleshooting cams, cam-followers, rod-ends, bushings, chain drives, conveyors, gearboxes, vacuum systems, pneumatic systems, and ball-valves.
Basic electrical knowledge and experience with PLC’s and pneumatic systems preferred
Completed coursework in following subjects required (relevant experience may be substituted for individual courses):
