SUMMARY
Create, implement or administer environmental/sustainability/safety programs in accordance with regulatory requirements and company policies, guidelines and objectives. Drive team member engagement, innovation, involvement and accountability for the success of environmental/sustainability/safety initiatives within all areas of the business consistent with our certifications and reputation as an industry leader.
YOUR IMPACT:
- Assist the Environmental Leadership with and manage all site environmental compliance programs, related to, but not limited to: Air permitting, record keeping and compliance, wastewater treatment, storm water management, hazardous (RCRA) and non-hazardous waste management, SPCC plans and inspections, community right-to-know (EPCRA) Tier II and TRI reporting.
- Actively lead projects and cross functional teams to reduce waste to landfill, energy, GHG emissions, water and hazardous waste, etc.
- Prepare, review and update environmental management systems (EMS) plans, permits and standard operating procedures.
- Complete required inspections to maintain compliance with applicable environmental/safety regulations.
- Serve as a member of the emergency response team and conduct environmental and safety training.
- Provide support to plant operations teams and other projects by collecting data, providing project documentation and reporting results based on permitting requirements.
- Lead and implement internal audit programs, regulatory inspections and assist with other audits as needed.
- Be an active member of the Environmental, Spill Response and Safety Teams, providing assistance and information to the teams.
- Work on other projects as necessary in order to reduce environmental related risk, liability, and cost to the corporation while following applicable laws and regulations.
- Monitor progress of environmental improvement programs using and updating key performance indicators (KPIs) metrics.
- Communicate with all levels of operations/manufacturing as well as external/governmental agencies, companies, contractors, suppliers and vendors.
- Manage the internal environmental resource and electronic records SharePoint page.
- Manage the cross functional teams and tasks related to auditing and training at the various locations as needed.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental, engineering, science or a related field.
- Passion and drive for environmental and sustainability initiatives.
- Proficiency with various software applications including Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, etc.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to manage tactical and strategic initiatives.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 10 years of a relevant manufacturing work environment experience.
- A broad knowledge of environmental laws and regulations with extensive knowledge of the Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, Hazardous Waste Regulations, and Community Right-to-Know Act, preferable with the State of FL
- Proficiency with various EHS software applications such as Intelex, ERA, 3E Online, or similar
- Experience leading, presenting and completing corrective actions for findings related to environmental/sustainability/safety requirements.
- Ability to lead by influence in order to build a Sustainability and Environmental Compliance culture that does not rely on EHS site presence.
