The Sr. Director of Advanced Analytics (Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning) is responsible for defining, establishing and implementing Abbott’s artificial intelligence and data strategy. The initial priority will require establishing Abbott’s data strategy, usage of Artificial Intelligence with a strong attention to expanding the company’s understanding, usage and value creation through the use of data and specifically, Artificial Intelligence both internally, and with our products used by patents, customers and key stakeholders. This position will also have the responsibility of establishing business and IT governance to ensure that data, and AI/ML investments are aligned to the company’s operating structure and aligns to the overall data strategy.
This person will be successful by implementing a world-class AI/ML engineering service utilized across our business providing efficient means to access data ultimately improving business insight.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
·Plan and implement the overall data and AI strategy. Develop and maintain enterprise priorities, facilitate business and IT governance related to planning and designing how information is managed and how business insights are provided to the business.
·Discover new opportunities to optimize the business through analytics, AI/ML and use case prioritization
·Work closely with business/IT leadership to rationalize and define business analytics and reporting solutions, investments and priorities that support Abbott’s strategic direction; Assist business leadership to develop business case rationale.
·Work in partnership with business and IT to govern Abbott’s total cost of investment for existing reporting environments with a focus on standardization and consolidation.
·Develop KPI dashboards to ensure that the data standards/policies are maintained across the enterprise in accordance with meeting regulatory compliance, maintaining data integrity and improving access to data. Monitor data issues impacting the business and ensure projects, tasks, and activities are focused on the management of the Enterprise data asset.
·Work with business leaders and subject matter experts in identification, research and remediation of data quality, security and availability issues across business functions, working closely with key business and IT managers.
·Manage the consolidated portfolio of reporting and information management investments, present progress updates, findings, maintain and report key performance indicators (KPI) on enterprise data quality and briefings to business/IT governance team.
·Work closely across multiple departments and work across the organization utilizing matrix organization of subject matter experts from key departments across the Enterprise. Facilitate and co-Lead the design and implementation of all analytical projects, ensuring that these solutions align with the organization’s strategic direction and technology standards.
·Will work in a collaborative manner with the shared service operations, IT leadership and business unit leadership to Work with the Technology teams to deliver a stable and highly available reporting platform.
·Create a work culture/climate that attracts, develops and retains top business/IT talent at all levels.
·Provide leadership across Business/IT to establish and evolve global business application strategy. Evolve maturity of company’s understanding to drive IT investment based upon business value.
·Implement and sustain business reporting and data management strategy that services and supports corporate back office functions, order management, key external business partners, supply chain operations, global engineering and corporate quality.
·Implement and maintain compliance and controls for all relevant regulations (FDA, SOX, MoH, etc.) and policies that apply to pharmaceutical, food, and medical device industries.
·Build a team and strategy; This is a senior director position required to build overall global organization strategy that will define the future operating design. This role is required to define roles and responsibilities related to business analytics and information management across business, shared service operations and IT. Ultimately, defining and building capabilities and needs that is required to achieve our company strategy.
Required Qualifications
·B.S. Business, Science or Engineering (emphasis on business analytics, statistics or math) or equivalent work experience. An M.B.A. degree or higher is desirable. A combination of analytical business acumen and technical expertise is expected.
·15+ years business analytics/IT information management with strong knowledge of healthcare industry including pharmaceuticals, nutrition, medical devices and diagnostics.
·In depth knowledge of methods and practices to drive business strategy development, operating model design, enterprise-wide solution delivery related shared services, data management and information delivery.
·Minimum 10 years business/marketing analysis experience with expertise in Statistics or math.
·Minimum 4 years in a Management position required.
·Minimum 3 years digital marketing/e-commerce experience required.
·Experience in web analytics implementation including Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics and troubleshooting required, Expertise in Predictive Analytics is desirable, Expertise in Excel is an absolute must.
·Demonstrated ability to present actionable information to business stakeholders required.
·Exceptional written and verbal communication/presentation skills required.
·Ability to identify opportunities and immediately act on them is required (self-starter).

WHAT YOU’LL DO
Primary Job Function:
Provide support to Abbotts Diagnostic Division (ADD) customers and field personnel as the primary contact for ADD’s highest complexity instruments for onsite instrument and assay integration and training; and serve as a resource for internal/external customers in troubleshooting and resolving instrument and/or reagent problems onsite or over the phone; and document information into the complaint handling system.
Core Job Responsibilities:
Responsible for implementing and maintaining the effectiveness of the quality system. Lead multi-site/multi-instrument integrations for ADD instruments and reagents into customer sites/laboratories; including new product launch (NPL) products. Conduct comprehensive customer entrance interview to understand the customer’s needs; and manage their expectations within the defined service offerings. Plan the onsite integration process. Work with implementation project managers as technical lead to execute project plan across customer systems. Work with the customer to take ownership of the instrument. Assist customers with meeting their regulatory and validation requirements. Provide appropriate training for the customer on the newly installed instrument. Manage the integration process to meet customer expectations and timeline. Conduct thorough exit interview to present integration results and secure customer buy-in. Lead critical account management situations as part of combined sales/service/support effort.
Perform troubleshooting on issues related to reagent or instrument performance designed to improve customer self-sufficiency. Provides technical phone and on-site support to proactively maintain product performance or resolve customer complaints with ADD products for hardware; software and reagent issues. Investigate problems; diagnose probable causes; systematically eliminate alternatives; provide solutions; document information into complaint handling system. Position is critical to the support of the CAPA Quality Sub-System with responsibility for accurate documentation of customer complaints and the actions taken to resolve those concerns. Recognizes and communicates product issues and potential improvements to others in the organization in a timely and effective manner. Provide immediate feedback to CSO; GSS; and others regarding NPL field performance. Deliver onsite or classroom-based customer training.
Customize onsite training to meet specific customer needs. Maintain and develop technical competence on instruments assigned as well as job-related tools and processes. Consults in the sales cycle regarding integration/technical/workflow issues; and the service cycle on HSI or other account management issues. Manage time; territory; systems and accounts effectively to meet customer needs; organizational priorities; and sales objectives. Follow defined TAS work processes for all aspects of job; including integration procedures; complaint documentation; time documentation; activity documentation; and TOR documentation. Provide data to the organization on customer use/preferences leading to customer driven design/customer usability. Responsible for identifying and communicating critical gaps and recommend potential improvements to cross functional work processes. Function as SME or point-person on complex processes on cross-functional teams. Provide technical information to direct management/peers and other functional groups. Mentors new field personnel (sales/service) on TS responsibilities and work processes; and mentors’ new TS hires in daily responsibilities.
Position Accountability / Scope:
This position is a very visible to the external customer and will influence customer purchase decisions. This position is a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the Technical Application Specialist (TAS) organization to sales and service; influencing stakeholders in these areas. Frequent interaction with customers’ onsite and via telephone; SME/leadership roles on teams or major projects. Leadership shared with Field Service; CSC or others on critical account management issues.
Receives general direction and exercises considerable discretion as to personal work details. Accomplishes results individually; working remotely and in collaboration on teams and work groups. Develops processes and procedures for department. Recognizes the impact of the policies and procedures on the business and raises the issue if there is a potential conflict. Makes decision on reagent utilization on integrations and troubleshooting product replacement that impacts annual supply budget of approximately 3.0MM for US. Considers financial and customer implications as part of decision making. Critical contribution to the effectiveness of the CAPA system with responsibility for accurate documentation of customer complaints and the actions taken to resolve those concerns Exhibits high level of integrity; honesty; keeping commitments and presenting information completely and accurately to both internal and external customers. Monitor and maintains customer satisfaction through direct contact. Adheres to safety guidelines; policies; procedures.
