Your new role
Reporting into the Finance Director, you will be taking on a role to oversee the finance department and the running of the accounts on a day-to-day basis. You'll partner with the onsite finance teams as well as work with the transactional team locally. You'll lead delivery of the monthly management accounts including P&L and balance sheet reconciliations. Alongside this, you'll work closely with the operational teams to help them understand the profitability of their projects. This is a hands-on role in a fast paced and exciting industry!


What you'll need to succeed
You should be a proven operator within finance in preparing and delivering management accounts, as well as an excellent communicator at all levels. You should also be a team player and whilst management experience is not essential, a confidence to support and mentor the team is. An accounting qualification is preferred but NOT a pre-requisite.

Corporate governance, internal controls and compliance

• Ensure appropriate policies are in place, updated periodically and enforced objectively.
• Safeguard assets and mitigate risks with appropriate insurance cover from Group and local insurers.
• Quarterly assessment of the risks and controls, liaising with Internal Audit.
• Prepare quarterly reports to our Group’s Divisional Audit & Risk Committee.
• Manage corporate secretarial matters – ensure compliance with Companies Act and ACRA requirements.

Finance Operations

• Analyze working capital trends, optimize working capital days and maximize cashflow generation.
• Evaluate the FX requirements, manage FX risks with appropriate FX hedging.

REQUIREMENTS:

What will your role look like?

Job Requirement:

• Minimum Diploma in Finance, Business Administration or holds a professional qualification in Accounting e.g. ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants).
• Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience. Understanding of Financial and Management accounting.

Responsibilities

• Verify and review all invoices to ensure accuracy of the invoices are supported with relevant documents before posting to the accounting system.
• Perform reconciliation of vendors' accounts monthly.
• Communicate with vendor to resolve any discrepancies in billing/ invoices.
• Prepare payment and submit for approval within the specified time frame.
• Review and process staff claims.
• Support and ensure timely and accurate reporting including monthly expenses, accounting, finance, audit schedules, monthly analysis, budget etc to HQ
• Assist in GL, AR & AP functions, bank reconciliations, balance sheet schedules, banking transaction, GST preparation and filling, and any other reconciliation reports to HQ
• Support and facilitate other departments on queries and facilitate in payment and collection matters.
• Any adhoc duties assigned by supervisor.

Requirements

• Diploma in Accountancy / LCCI or degree in accounting or equivalent.
• Min 2 years’ relevant work experience
• Strong hands-on experience in financial and management reporting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, analytical skills in the development of data-driven reports are a plus.
• Meticulous and detail-oriented, multi-task and able to work independently.
• Demonstrate ability to manage time and prioritize projects to meet deadlines.

A world leading manufacturer and distribution business based from Blackburn are looking to recruit an experienced Finance Manager to join their team on a permanent basis, due to upcoming retirement. This business has European headquarters, however still has a small operation from Blackburn.

Your new role
In your new role as Finance Manager, will be expected to manage the entirety of the accounting functions, prepare financial reports, make journal entries, review and maintain general ledger, ensure credit collection and supplier payments, and reconcile bank accounts as well as run the HR administrative functions of the company. You will have full responsibility for all transactional finance functions including AR & AP and credit control. You will be responsible for all month and year end requirements, balance sheet reconciliations, supervisions of inventory counts and work closely with board members across the UK & Europe. You will enjoy working in a hands-on role, variety in the job duties performed and making a difference in a stable place to call a long-term home. This role is full time, based from the office working 8:30am-5:00pm.

What you'll need to succeed
To be successful for this role, you will be Qualified by experience or working towards your financial qualifications. You will have worked in a similar role previously and have experience working in a standalone finance position, confident in all areas of transactional accounts and up to trial balance. A strong working knowledge of Excel is essential.

Roles & Responsibilities

As an Assistant Finance Manager, you will play a crucial role in assisting the Finance Manager for daily operation functions and also becoming a crucial part of the control and process improvement.

You are also required to perform these job functions:

Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the accounting team in overseeing the finance and accounting functions of various entities.
• Review monthly entity-level management accounts prepared by the team to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
• Prepare/review Group consolidated financial reports by performing consolidation entries, eliminations and adjustments
• Provide periodical financial reporting/analysis packages to management and attend to ad-hoc queries/requests
• Assist in the preparation of annual financial statements and liaise with auditors to complete the annual audit.
• Administer and manage the budgeting and forecasting processes, including working with management to finalise budget planning and performing periodic variance analysis.
• Supervise the preparation of quarterly and annual account reconciliations, monitor and enforce compliance with tax and financial reporting standards and assist with cash flow forecasting.
• Review, implement and improve financial workflows/processes to strengthen internal control and compliance and to enhance operational efficiencies.

Requirements:

• Degree in Accountancy/Finance with CA, ACCA or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant financial experience, with at least 2 years in a managerial position.
• Good knowledge of budgeting and financial analysis techniques.
• Experience in ERP environment
• Possess good analytical, communication and interpersonal skills, as well as ability to multi-task.
