The function of an EMS Materials and Supply Technician (MST) is to maintain a dual support role within the vehicle and supply area of SJRMC-EMS. Duties and Responsibilities:

• Demonstrates complete knowledge, understanding and compliance of company policies and procedures.
• Ensures that EMS supplies and all equipment is ready for use at the beginning of each shift. This includes but is not limited to appropriate cleaning and disinfecting of the interior and exterior of the vehicle, appropriate cleaning and disinfecting of equipment, completing daily checklists of the vehicle and equipment, inspecting, and restocking the vehicle, and performing some routine maintenance.
• Ensures security of buildings, vehicles, equipment, and all other company property.
• Performs daily inspections of base and/or station for cleanliness.
• Appropriately and safely delivers the equipment or supplies to the appropriate locations.
• Always acts with his/her personal safety in mind, as well as the safety of other support staff, EMS personnel, bystanders, and any other public safety personnel present.
• Always maintains security and privacy of all company and patient information in accordance HIPAA and all other local, state, and federal regulations.
• Is familiar with and practices the Infection Control policies and procedures of the company. Adheres to Universal Precautions/Body Substance Isolation when necessary.
• Reports to assigned shifts properly groomed in uniform and on time unless the proper notification has been made. Remains on-duty and in proper uniform until properly relieved.
• Maintain supply, service, stocking, and decontamination areas and equipment according to protocol, and ensuring these areas are free of safety concerns.
• Report all unsafe conditions or practices to a supervisor.
• Drive company vehicles with due regard, abiding to all laws and company protocols.
• Clean and decontaminate the ambulance patient and crew compartments.
• Wash the exterior of the ambulance and other company vehicles as needed.
• General inspection of vehicles and proper reporting of damage or issues.
• Help in ordering supplies both consumable and non-consumable.
• Stocking and maintaining complete supplies for crews.
• Inventory control.
• Maintaining office and station cleaning supplies.
• Stock supplies and equipment in proper storage areas and company vehicles.
• Assist with inventory of supplies and equipment in supply room and company vehicles.
• Restock supplies and equipment on company vehicles preparing for service.
• Review all product expiration dates. Dispose of expired product in appropriate manner.
• Check, change, and/or replace main and portable oxygen tanks.
• Be knowledgeable regarding company equipment and routinely check equipment for proper functionality.
• Document and report equipment that does not function safely or work at all.
• Properly handle and dispose of biohazard materials.
• Accurately maintain computerized, manual, and paper records.
• Recharge and calibrate equipment batteries.
• Handle field crew concerns in a courteous manner.

The Regulatory Standards Governance, Communications and Reporting Officer will be part of Citi’s Global Regulatory Engagement (GRE) team within Citibank, N.A. and NAM, and report directly to the Governance, Communications and Reporting Lead. POSITION SUMMARY
This position coordinates a smooth patient flow process by answering phones, scheduling patient appointments, providing registration of patient and insurance information, obtaining required signatures following established processes, procedures and standards. This position also verifies insurance coverage, validates referrals and authorizations, collects patient liability and provides financial guidance to patients to maximize medical services reimbursement efforts. This also includes accurately posting patients at the point of service and releasing information in accordance with organizational and compliance policies and guidelines.

CORE FUNCTIONS
1. Performs registration/check-in processes, including but not limited to performing data entry activities, providing patients with appropriate information and intake forms, obtaining necessary signatures and generating population health summary.

2. Verifies insurance eligibility benefits for services rendered with the payors and documents appropriately. Assists in obtaining or validating pre-certification, referrals, and authorizations

3. Calculates and collects patient liability according to verification of insurance benefits and expected reimbursement. Explains and provides financial policies and available resources for alternative payment arrangements to patients and their families.

4. Enters payments/charges for services rendered and performs daily payment/charge reconciliation in a timely and accurate manner. Balances cash drawer at the beginning and end of the day and prepares daily bank deposit with necessary paperwork sent to centralized billing for record purposes.

5. Schedules office visits and procedures within the medical practice(s) and external practices as necessary. Maximizes reimbursement by scheduling patients in accordance with payor plan provisions. Confirms patient appointments for the following day as necessary and ensures patients are properly prepared for visits.

6. Demonstrates proactive interpersonal communications skills while dealing with patient concerns through telephone calls, emails and in-person conversations. Optimizes patient flow by using effective customer service/communication skills by communicating to internal and external customers, care team, management, centralized services and HIMS.

7. Assists in responding to requests for patient medical records according to company policies and procedures, and state and federal laws.

8. Provides a variety of patient services to assist in patient flow including but not limited to escorting patients, taking vitals and patient history, assisting in patient treatment, distributing mail and fax information, ordering supplies, etc.

9. Works independently under regular supervision and follows structured work routines. You will work closely with patients to ensure their needs are met during screening, diagnostic mammograms and also stereotactic procedures

We are a small outpatient imaging facility separate from the hospital.  We are mostly breast imaging at this site but also have MRI and Dexa on site.  We work closely with our breast scheduling team.  We have two Hologic Mammo machines, 2 ultrasound machines GE Logic 10, and Siemens S3000.  We are located centrally in Tucson, conveniently located next to Trader Joes and also easy access to Rillito River Walking Path.   We work very closely with the AZ Cancer Center and Surgeons to get the best breast care for our patients. We are a BICOE (Breast Imaging Center of Excellence) through the ACR.  We are accredited in mammo, Stereo Biopsy, US and US Biopsy, and Breast MRI.

• Arranges appropriate in-services and continuing education programs to meet the needs of the staff. 
• Ensures the proficiency of the staff on the unit.

General Responsibilities:

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: Graduate of an approved school of nursing. BSN required; Master’s level education preferred

Experience: Three (3) years of supervisory or charge nurse experience

License(s)/Certification(s)/Registration(s) Required:  Current RN License issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing, or a current multistate compact RN License (eNLC).  Current Basic Life Support issued by the American Heart Association required upon hire. ACLS (American Heart Association) required if caring for Step Down patients.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:  

Knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, techniques and procedures.   Managerial skills sufficient for organizing, developing and supervising a department and staff.  Knowledge of managerial functions such as budgets, statistical measures, report writing, performance improvement tools, etc.  Computer literate.  Strong written and verbal communication skills.  Must able to prioritize and manage several tasks at one time
