The Opportunity

Within EY’s Financial Services Regulatory Compliance practice, you will participate in numerous projects and initiatives involving process reviews, system enhancements as well as new systems implementation, impacting and improving the relevant processes surrounding regulatory conduct, financial crime and compliance. You will also use your knowledge and expertise to implement challenging audit strategies and build strong client relationships. With the support of managers, you will extend your technical and business skills. Your key responsibilities

You will be working together with the senior associates, managers and partners to plan, lead and execute engagements for financial institutions, regulatory conduct, financial crime and compliance for Banks, Capital Market Services Licensees and other financial institutions. You will perform regulatory related fieldwork and review of documentation to provide quality control over regulatory compliance processes. You will also make recommendations to improve policies, procedures and processes.

Skills and attributes for success

• Good knowledge of regulations such as Banking Act / Securities and Futures Act / Financial Advisers Act
• Good knowledge of regulatory concepts such as anti-money laundering / counter financing of terrorism, market conduct amongst others
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work within a team on regulatory reviews in close liaison with the engagement managers
• Strong analytical skills with a good eye for details
• Able to work under pressure and tight deadlines

To qualify for the role, you must have

• Degree in Accountancy, Finance or related discipline
• Minimum 2 years of experience in regulatory compliance or related roles, in financial institutions or related professional firms is required as a senior associate
• Good excel skills
• Strong initiative to conduct analysis and research to under regulations
• Strong business English skills - both writing and verbal
• Strong numerical and analytical skills
• Prior experience in working within regulatory compliance function, especially in banks, or capital market services licensees or related professional firms / strong knowledge in banking operations and banking products and services will be an advantage

Key Responsibilities

This is an investment ops/fund ops role. There would also be some project work that involve the providing of fund ops inputs and doing testing where needed.

Ongoing Investment ops/ fund ops job scope

• Assist in the activities for a group of investments funds, including, but not limited to, accounting, audit, tax (local, overseas and GST), statutory, payment and budgeting
• Assist with investment operations process which includes (but not limited to):

-Assist in the check of daily deliverables from fund administrators

-Checking & processing of drawdowns and distribution, both investments and

investors;

-Coordinating with fund administrator and/or GP for queries and reports;

-Assist with onboarding matters, including fulfilling KYCs, for new investments and periodic CDD;

-Checking of performance metrics and ensuring data integrity;

• Work closely and coordinate with all business units and external parties to support the regular reporting deliverables and deadlines

Projects (on ad hoc basis)

• Assist and support in checking data for data migration
• Participate and provide inputs in new workflow, system implementation, and project coordination where required
• Participate in other work processes and ad-hoc tasks where required
• Initiate efficiency improvements to control enhancements

Requirements

• Degree in Accountancy/Finance/ACCA/CA Equivalent.

The key Accountabilities are, but not limited to:

• Collection of all agency monies are completed within the AR monthly timetables.
• Management of credit processes and aged debtor controls (if applicable to brand and within brand agreed debt regimes).
