Provides leadership, direction, organization, planning and implementation of pharmacy programs within Pharmacy Service sections including: Pharmacoeconomics, Procurement/Budget and Automation/Analytics. Supervises Pharmacy Program Managers, Technicians and Pharmacists that are involved with Outcomes and Analytics section within Pharmacy Service.

The South Texas Veterans Health Care System (STVHCS) is a large tertiary care (1A) facility affiliated with University of Texas Health San Antonio (UTHSA). STVHCS currently has over 127 active investigators, more than 321 active protocols and 731 research staff.In fiscal year 2022, STVHCS scientists received over $17 million in research grants from the Veteran Affairs (VA), National Institutes of Health (NIH), Department of Defense and other sources.
Research is conducted in a total of 49,000 square feet of wet and dry lab space that supports programs in basic science, clinical research, rehabilitation, health services, cooperative studies, and implementation research. STVHCS is home to the VA funded Dole Center of Excellence on caregiving.
Clinical programs awarded to STVHCS include The National Cancer Institute and VA Interagency Group to Accelerate Trials Enrolment, Million Veteran Program recruiting site, Lung Precision Oncology Program, and Geriatric Research Education and Clinical Center (GRECC).Our VA GRECC investigators are also part of two large NIH centers on aging: a Pepper Center and a Nathan Shock Center.Research collaborations between the STVHCS and UTHSA are greatly enhanced by a sky bridge that connects the VA with the university.
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday (8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.)
