ROLE
You will review processes and controls, identify any weakness in controls framework and ensure appropriate mitigating controls are put in place. Work closely with commercial and functional teams to make recommendations, provide solutions to improve our controls and drive efficiency through continuous improvement. You are to collate and report global Internal Control information required by the management.
Ensure an appropriate and tailored IC framework is in place for the business activities
Ensure consistency of internal control approach across the whole company including subsidiaries
Ensure an optimized set of business process maps and documentations are in place to reflect the agreed framework
Coordinate and ensure key policies and procedures are updated annually
Provide internal control guidance and support to commercial and functional teams in managing operational risks
Lead the Operational Sign Off process for all new business activity/product, ensuring proper signed off by relevant functions and tracking action items
Lead the control gaps/ incidents reviews, including root cause analysis, recommending mitigating controls, reporting and tracking the remediation actions to closure
Identify control and process improvement initiatives and drive continuous improvement in the organization
Compile and prepare relevant Internal Control metrics and KPI reports on a monthly and ad-hoc basis
Conduct process reviews including sample testing to ensure compliance of key policies and procedures
Ensure identified risks, breaches and incidents are timely reported to stakeholders
Lead annual risk matrix review, work with risk owners to ensure all relevant risks and mitigating controls are captured
Provide support to significant system change initiatives and projects to ensure that sound controls are included at the design-phase
Provide assistance to Internal and External Auditing teams and ensuring timely delivery of all audit actions
Be the key contact for and coordinating the J-Sox reporting
Involvement in ad hoc projects
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelors’ Degree level or equivalent professional qualification
15 years of experience as an internal control, compliance, operational risk or internal audit in an energy/commodity trading environment, or regulatory environment
Experience of control evaluation and design and maintenance of business processes in a fast-changing and significant regulatory environment
Experience of financial controls and assessment of risk within complex financial processes is highly desirable
Experience in incident investigation and reporting
Experience in leading/managing a team is preferred
Competent in the full suite of MS Office packages – e.g. Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint and PowerBI applications
