Gordian Capital is Singapore’s leading asset management platform that advises on the establishment of fund structures and provides the full scope of support functions for regulated funds, investment vehicles & managed accounts across a wide range of investment strategies including private equity, venture capital, private credit, real estate, & hedge funds. To service global investors, we are seeking to hire an Analyst to specifically focus on Korean activist strategies and to support the investor relations effort for a Korean activist fund (the “Fund”).
Responsibilities
Researching the Korean equity markets in relation to activism, corporate governance and ESG, the relevant information being all in Korean.
Interviewing management teams, suppliers, customers, and other stakeholders of portfolio companies, financial modelling, sector research and research on the activities of Korean companies outside Korea.
Communicating with the Seoul based investment team in Korean in relation to portfolio consultation on investment ideas.
Preparing reports and updates on the Fund for investors.
Attending investor conferences, prime broker arranged conferences, speaking with analysts and industry experts, end investors, gatekeepers, consultants, independent research organizations and fund rating agencies.
Participation and support in the due diligence process by investors
Liaison between Gordian Capital Singapore and the Seoul based investment manager.
Supporting Gordian Capital’s internal execution team on Korean trades where necessary.
Requirements
Native level proficiency in English and Korean (speaking, reading and writing).
Undergraduate degree and M.S in Finance, both from a Korean university with a focus on International Studies, Portfolio Management, Investment, Corporate Finance, Financial Derivatives, Econometrics, Linear Algebra and Microeconomics,
Experience in Institutional Sales & Structuring, Financial Markets, Investor Relations & Business Development.
Experience in pricing and executing flow and nonflow transactions (foreign exchange, rates, commodities derivatives and loans) for both Korean domestical and international institutional clients including banks, broker dealers, asset managers and lifer insurance companies.
Ability to work with other internal departments and external strategic partners.
Proactive self-starter with an outgoing personality who can work well either individually or as part of a team
Experience in working on projects and multi-tasking & working under pressure
Good communication skills - strong verbal and written communication
Detail-oriented - organized, meticulous and number savvy
Strong work ethic and professional habits
Advanced skulls in Microsoft Office, SAS, Python, Dataguide, Refinitiv Eikon and Bloomberg
