Looking for an inspirational leader with oncology experience to manage a rapidly growing medical oncology practice that also facilitates Hema-telehealth visits with patient onsite for the visit. This position will support eight providers, with 38-40 direct reports providing evidence based practices, and transitioning patients to the infusion suite for oncology and hematology treatments. Looking for someone who is not afraid of change and likes to lead progressive changes in practice.

What you will do

• Ensures TOS collections and physician target visit levels are met monthly. Monitors overtime and keeps it to minimum and monitors uses of resources with recommendations for change.
• Assists director with activities related to accreditation and regulatory issues. Maintains knowledge of legal and regulatory guidelines related to practice environment and medical records. Assures that customer service is a focus of the practice. Uses information from patient satisfaction surveys to improve patient perception of care. Demonstrates and ensure team understands and responds to suggestions/concerns from patients/family/visitors/personnel/medical staff. Resolves concerns and responds to complaints related to care, access, and service. Patient waiting time should be no longer than 20 minutes for on-time arrival by overseeing daily schedule.
• Assists with the development of new or the expansion of current services, evaluates office design, patient flow and access. Participates in setting both short and long term goals for the practice business plan. Provides monthly reports of office efficiency and access including goals and uses patient satisfaction and evidence based care for strategic plan. Demonstrates accountability for ensuring availability of resources necessary to ensure positive patient outcomes.
• Complete annual and 90-day evaluations on time. Develop career plans with team members including discipline and plans for improvement. Facilitate the Business Practice Assessment including participation and analysis of results and plan for improvement based on results of survey. Facilitates monthly proactive meeting with physicians to review financials and other operational issues to ensure the practices are running smoothly and financially strong. Participates/oversees the planning and monitoring of the budget for defined areas to include appropriate resource allocation determination.
• Assures quality of service and access by developing strategic business plan with physicians and director and management of daily operations. Monitors practice compliance to quality indicators and coding compliance. Oversees the completeness and accuracy of medical records for continuity of care and timely service.

• Collaborates with the Compliance Department to implement transparent policies and procedures to define compliance controls within CWE Departments

Operations Management

• Supervises, coaches and supports employees with patience and clarity, fostering positive and actionable feedback to staff during quarterly touchpoints and annual review.
• Ensures that employee onboarding plan is organized and competency documentation is completed. 90 day Evaluation returned to HR/and within managers file.
• Ensures that providers have an onboarding plan that is organized and efficient utilizing standard work
• Schedules and facilitates regular staff meetings and trainings to ensure staff competencies are being accessed, and maintain attendance records and minutes, as team dynamics mature, allow staff to facilitate when appropriate and participate in problem solving.
• Maintains appropriate staffing levels and skill mix for the safe provision of patient care
• Establishes a positive work environment through a culture of employee appreciation, recognition and acknowledgement of employee successes and contributions to the team.
• Manages the practices payroll within the payroll system, including resolution of payroll issues and edit logs. This includes insuring proper processing for FMLA, LOA, ESB and Choice Time in accordance with policy and regulations. 

Financial Management

• Prepares operating and capital budgets. 
• Monitors performance relative to budget and creates and manages action plans to address any budget variance as necessary which includes staffing and cost reductions.
• Prepares productivity reports and communicates with providers on a regular and ongoing basis.
• Manages processes to maximize practice revenues including template adjustments.
• Seeks support from finance analyst as needed. Access system for budget review and variance reports.
• Builds and maintains ongoing collaborative relationships with staff and providers in the practice to facilitate positive staff morale and support provider productivity by resolving problems and enhancing communication.
• Oversees all purchasing for the practice to include approving invoices, requisitions, ordering of supplies and preparing and processing check request as needed. 

Quality

• Maintains up to date knowledge of JCAHO and CMS regulations affecting the practice.
• Promotes and supports a culture of safety.
• Ensures Practice have Safety Flip Chart and complete drills and surveys as directed by safety officer.
• Ensure Practice has a Safety Representative and s/he attends meetings regularly, and communicates with staff during huddles or staff meetings.
• Reports all adverse events and provides follow up documentation within CM Safety Event Reporting tools.
• Creates and operationalizes action plans to address any Practice safety concerns.

Education and Experience:

• High School Education

• BA Preferred, or combination of equivalent education and experience in healthcare management
• 3-5 yrs. experience in healthcare management with direct reports

The lab of Dr. Reuben Harris at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio is looking for a focused, meticulous, and enthusiastic Lab Manager to support day-to-day operations. The Harris Lab seeks to understand how DNA mutating-enzymes (APOBECs) provide immunity against viral infections, yet also contribute to tumor evolution through genomic DNA mutagenesis.
