Responsibilities:
Cares for observation patients admitted from the ED to the CDU. These patients are admitted under restrictive protocols and are expected to be treated and discharged with 24 hours of admission.
Documents on the patient (H and P, progress notes, discharge summaries) and determs a plan of care in conjunction with the admitting physician and informed by evidence-based protocolized care plans. While there is continuous in-house physician support, most of the patient care will be provided by the APP.
Works SURGE and PIT shifts in the ED, taking care of undifferentiated patients in an outpatient setting under the direct supervision of attending physicians.
Extends the patient care services of the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences physicians.
Provides comprehensive health assessments, determine diagnoses, implement treatment plans, prescribe medical treatments and manage health issues for patients in collaboration with the designated physician(s).
Works autonomously, as well as, in collaboration with a variety of individuals to diagnose and manage patients' health care problems; and will serve as a health care resource, interdisciplinary consultant, and patient advocate.
Coordinates the multidisciplinary care of patients, facilitating all necessary consults, assuring that care is timely and appropriate.Other duties may be assigned to this position.

Assists with clinical services as needed: filling in clinically when short-staffed; (i.e. Assessments, crisis appointments, group, individual, and family). Additionally, all MHPs must adhere to the PRI Billing Policy, PC25. Non-compliance may include progressive discipline up to and including dismissal in addition to financial penalties.
Responsible for assisting leadership with oversight of the program's day-to-day function, both clinically and administratively.
Oversees staff and their work toward meeting the federal performance standards including meeting documentation guidelines; and gathers data and presents it through reports to leadership as requested.
Responsible for assisting in the development, implementation, and revision of program policies and procedures as needed.
Responsible for assisting in the development and implementation of training agendas at the program level, in addition to training new program staff.
Assists with the hiring of staff.
Oversees the referral/assessment process.
Provides direct supervision to Mental Health Professionals (MHP) and Qualified Behavioral Health Professionals (QBHP) (clinically and/or administratively) to program staff.
Ensures staff are competent/ skilled to perform their duties.
Provides examples of independent judgment and decision-making authority and impact of decisions.
Works with minimal supervision.
Makes appropriate decisions related to treatment issues and mandated reports independently, with direct clinical supervision on a quarterly or as-needed basis.
Maintains client confidentiality in accordance with legal and professional ethical standards.
Accountable for meeting documentation and billing deadlines and standards as set by program and departmental policies and procedures.

Nursing Process- Triage, assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care and patient education, either by telephone or within the UAMS Clinic. Delivers nursing care according to standards as defined by UAMS, American Nurses Association (ANA), Arkansas State Board of Nursing (ASBN), and those set forth by nursing specialty organizations. Helps develop patients’ Plan of Care (POC) per clinic standards utilizing assessment data. Evaluates the progress of patients toward attainment of desired outcomes. Responsibilities:
Cares for observation patients admitted from the ED to the CDU. These patients are admitted under restrictive protocols and are expected to be treated and discharged with 24 hours of admission.
Documents on the patient (H and P, progress notes, discharge summaries) and determs a plan of care in conjunction with the admitting physician and informed by evidence-based protocolized care plans. While there is continuous in-house physician support, most of the patient care will be provided by the APP.
Works SURGE and PIT shifts in the ED, taking care of undifferentiated patients in an outpatient setting under the direct supervision of attending physicians.
Extends the patient care services of the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences physicians.
Provides comprehensive health assessments, determine diagnoses, implement treatment plans, prescribe medical treatments and manage health issues for patients in collaboration with the designated physician(s).
Works autonomously, as well as, in collaboration with a variety of individuals to diagnose and manage patients' health care problems; and will serve as a health care resource, interdisciplinary consultant, and patient advocate.
Coordinates the multidisciplinary care of patients, facilitating all necessary consults, assuring that care is timely and appropriate.
