KEY DUTIES NHS Cancer Strategy Work closely with the Deputy Divisional Directors of Operations, Deputy Divisional Director of Nursing, receiving highly complex, sensitive patient and service-related information relating to customer care. Work in partnership with Senior Managers, Executive Directors and senior clinicians from all organisations related to cancer services in the network to drive forward the Trusts cancer plan, in line with national strategy. Responsible for overseeing and co-ordinating the development of business plans/cases to support the Trusts Cancer Strategy. This will involve working closely with the Lead Cancer Nurse/Operational Manager and providing expertise in transformation/service improvement to ensure all service changes are in line with the Trusts strategy and national guidance. Ensure there is a framework of supervision/ assessment and preceptorship throughout the team, and audit and monitor effectiveness of learning for both staff and students. Provide practical support by working alongside nursing staff as a clinical and educational adviser. Maintain knowledge of neonatal services and development within the profession, disseminating this information to all nursing staff. Encourage and promote continual quality improvement and implementation of evidence-based practice, where necessary facilitating and managing change. Participate in local and regional bench marking groups and facilitate change as a result.

Job summary: To be the Trusts subject matter expert on all aspects of Data Quality. To manage the Data Quality team ensuring they provide a responsive, high quality service to the Trust. To ensure data entered in to the electronic patient record is of a high standard, providing feedback and evidence to the organisation where improvements could be made or further training provided. To be responsible for the monitoring of internal and external data quality dashboards and reporting. To ensure Information Standard Notices (ISNs) are regularly reviewed and develop plans for implementation in line with specified timescales. Job responsibilities: Key Tasks & Responsibilities: Agree Trust wide standards of data definition across all areas of the Trust activity for both clinical and non-clinical data capture. To address any ongoing problems and update as new definitions become available. To establish and monitor data quality targets across the Trust, identify areas where data quality does not meet set targets and to develop proposals for the achievement of these targets. Benchmark trust data, locally & nationally, to identify areas of weakness in order to improve trust data. Provide data quality feedback to managers within Directorates and offer remedial training on a regular basis Apply data quality principles to e-Care, SystmOne and all major Trust systems. Work with the Information Services team to provide data quality performance indicators for managers and sub committees of the Board. To produce written operational policies and procedures (in liaison with departments) for any changes brought about by data quality review Support managers in reviewing all relevant job descriptions to ensure that the data quality responsibilities are identified. To ensure compliance with Information Standard Notices and DoH revisions to data requirements are implemented and data capture links to and supports Trust performance and reporting. Support and System Development Work with the Information Technology team to specify requirements for new applications / systems as appropriate, ensuring these are in line with national requirements. Using knowledge of local workflows and national data definitions, develop and maintain a programme of audits for systems where staff input data. Produce reports on the audits and feedback to relevant staff at all levels with regards to the findings and required improvements as appropriate. Develop and maintain action plans to support improvement working with staff in the area to drive change. Work with managers to address new items or changes to data capture and input. Monitor data quality reports produced by the Department of Health, NHS E/I, the Secondary Uses Service and CCGs. Develop with the Information Services team local Data Quality reports to identify issues for: monitoring, correction and compliance purposes as appropriate. Complete the requirements of the Information Governance Toolkit for Data Quality, and report progress / issues to the Information Governance Steering Group helping ensure the Trust achieves a high score Leadership & Change Management Support the implementation of the Information Governance agenda, ensuring the Trust complies with the requirements relating to Data Quality. Use knowledge of trust systems and workflows to identify areas of data quality that require improvement and work with the appropriate staff to make improvements, including: operational, clinical, and IT staff both internal and external to WSFT. Work closely with Data Quality personnel across the region to take advantage of best practice at other Trusts. Represent the Trust at Regional and National Data Quality events as appropriate. To manage and support the Data Quality team in line with trust policies and procedures, including authorising leave requests and overtime forms. To participate in appraisals, staff training and development as applicable. Education & Training Use workflow knowledge to plan and provide training and awareness on Data Quality for Clinical, Operational and Administrative Staff. Using knowledge of national and local guidance, support the RTT and e-Care training programmes, including delivery of training to individuals and groups as required. Including the production of training materials as appropriate.
