In this role, you will report to the Chief Actuary and manage/support the process for valuing reserves. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator, self-motivated, detailed-oriented, and a highly organized individual who is capable of handling multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining a high-quality work product. This position requires interactions with multiple functions, data analysis, strong understanding of company processes, utilizing accepted actuarial standards and methodologies, and incorporating knowledge gained through on-the-job experience for continual evaluation and improvement of the reserving process.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
Manages and supports actuarial function in valuing reserves for the mortgage insurance product line
Applies traditional actuarial reserving techniques to assess reserves and conduct reviews of loss results, past and current trends to project future losses
Lead, coach, and develop a small team of high performing actuaries. Work with each team member to deliver high quality work within their core responsibilities, continually learn about our business and industry, and expand beyond the scope of their current roles
Develops internal and external communications, including interactions with regulatory authorities and management that will describe and support reserve changes
Supports the development/design of new models for reserving and forecasting purposes
Displays proficient ability to analyze SAS datasets and modeling results and test for possible data biases and errors
Creates and reviews documentation procedures and policy documents that ensure transparent and cohesive reserving process
Incorporates and shares best practices regarding reserving models, techniques, and research with other functions within Enact
Responds to questions from senior leadership, auditors, consultants, and other interested parties
WHAT YOU BRING
Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, or related field
Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society (FCAS)
7+ years in finance, risk, or actuarial functions, mostly focused on reserving.
Excellent communications skills, particularly in a collaborative cross-functional team environment including senior leaders
Strong planning, vision setting, and organizational skills with an ability to outline initiatives and develop priorities in support of that vision.
Critical thinking and critical thinking skills
Proficient ability to analyze data and develop recommendations
Attention to detail, strong focus on accuracy and ability to review actuarial processes
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience with machine learning and predictive modeling
Computer programming knowledge (such as SAS, VBA, or other programming language)
Previous leadership experience

In this role, you will report to the Controller and be responsible for the oversight of all NAIC and statutory financial reporting and filings. YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
• Manage all quarterly and annual regulatory and statutory filings, including all financial statements, schedules, and notes/disclosure schedules to the financial statements
• Manage monthly accounting close related activities, including journal entries and account reconciliations for premiums, losses, reinsurance, and statutory adjustments
• Lead the research, reporting and documentation of all Statutory technical accounting matters • Review any U.S. GAAP-to-Statutory reconciliations and changes in accounting treatment
• Review supplemental schedules and state and regulatory reports
• Compile all financial data from tax and investment teams to include in all regulatory and statutory filings
• Manage all premium tax filings in all states and municipalities
• Coordinate all activities with external auditors relating to statutory audits, including providing certain schedules and variance explanations and audited financial statements and related footnote disclosures thereto
• Work with IT and other departments cross-functionally to continually improve processes
• Provide support to Capital Management team for Statutory capital inquires and needs
• Liaison with Department of Insurance for all regulatory-related audits and reviews
• Lead a team of internal and external professionals to deliver on team goals
YOUR QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field
• 3+ years of direct management experience
• 5+ years of relevant work experience in insurance, NAIC and regulatory accounting and reporting
• CPA
• Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, accuracy, time management & deadline adherence
• Strong oral and written communication skills – including ability to draft footnotes and MD&A
• Experience with internal and external audits
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
• Master’s degree in accounting
• Big 4 accounting/auditing experience

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
• Assist in the comprehensive investor relations strategy, framework and tactics that build and enhance relationships with investors, analysts, shareholders, employees and customers.
• Manage and coordinate the quarterly earnings release process. Create strategic, operational, and financial analysis in support of earnings presentations. Work with Senior Leadership Team (SLT) to provide investor community with a timely and accurate view of Enact’s performance and performance drivers.
• Lead the development of a comprehensive competitive intelligence process by transitioning this activity from other finance personnel while implementing process improvements aimed at automation of data gathering, messaging and delivery of key materials. Explore use of RPA, ML and / or AI to enhance gathering and analysis of data.
• Lead the Finance Transformation efforts by implementing existing roadmap efforts and developing, refining and evaluating new efforts while identifying key areas of improvement and assessing technology enhancements.
• Oversee the response to analyst, investor, and competitive intelligence requests. Collaborate across business functions to respond timely, accurately, and comprehensively.
• Monitor the movement in Enact’s stock price daily working to ensure that the stock valuation is aligned with company performance while explaining movement to senior leadership.
• Assist in the coordination and development of message / materials for investor days, shareholder meetings, analyst calls and investor content for SLT and BOD communications and website content.
• Serve as key advisor to VP of Finance regarding the public communication of financial information and other material disclosures as well as provide assessment of key business initiatives’ impact on the markets and shareholders’ perspective of the company.
• Lead the company’s market intelligence efforts, including creating a market feedback process, providing market intelligence for deeper understanding of the near and long-term market dynamics and how they affect the company, and integrating market feedback to assist in the build out of competitor performance comparisons for benchmarking and company positioning.
• Assist in the development of annual report, quarterly statements, and other shareholder materials.
• Assist identifying, targeting, and converting new investors.
YOUR QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance or Accounting required
• Prefer graduate degree and/or CFA certification
• 5+ years of experience within insurance, financial services and/or mortgage insurance required
• 5+ years of experience dealing with investors and a strong track record of creating positive relations with the investor community and equity research analysts
• Forward thinker with proven analytical and problem-solving skills
• Very strong Excel and PowerPoint skills
• Experience with AI, RPA, or ML
• Experience with financial modeling techniques and valuation methods used by analysts and investors
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Prefer a strong understanding of SEC laws and securities disclosure requirements and filing requirements
• Understanding of the capital markets, as well as a thorough understanding of industry key performance indicators
• Demonstrated ability to develop strategic business initiatives
• Demonstrated leadership and ability to motivate others to achieve results
• Ability to work collaboratively across all areas of the business
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
